Pump Stations
Various Locations in Kalamazoo County

Several tiny pump stations sprung up all around Kalamazoo between 1930 and 1950. Many of them reflect common elements of Art Deco design: concrete exteriors and decoration, horizontal and vertical details, bits of metalwork and even a hint of color. None of them compare to the splendor of City Hall or the American National Bank, but the Art Deco influence is certainly present.
